I’m still here

Just wanted to say that we’re still alive.  I’ve been working on a long post detailing Harris’ birth story, so hopefully I’ll get that out later today.  There just hasn’t really been much opportunity for blogging, what with all the crying and the not sleeping and the sickness and just general crappy season of life right now.  Let’s just say that when I thought Evelyne was a fussy, non-sleeping baby, I had no idea what lay ahead of me and now I fondly look back on her babyhood and long for such bliss.

So, I’m here…barely.  Hoping to pick back up on the blog asap, assuming I don’t die from lack of sleep first!

  1. oh no! you’ve been on my mind SO much, and i’ve certainly been praying that God would sustain you right now. so, i guess when He gives you one fussy baby we now know for sure that doesn’t mean He won’t give you another?? i’m trying to prepare myself mentally for being exactly where you are in a few months!

hang in there, em! you are a great mommy! at least we know this time won’t last forever. i wish i had great words of encouragement, but just know that those of us who’ve dealt with fussy, non-sleeping babies are definitely feeling your pain and praying for you!

  2. i echo the above statements. temporary. temporary. keep repeating. temporary. you will sleep again. your eardrums will not ring with baby-screams forever. you will feel like yourself again. or at least like a version of yourself that resembles something that you once were. before kid. before kid(s). i’m still praying. you will get through this. love you.

  6. Hello, Emily. Somehow I stumbled onto your blog and took a few minutes to see the pictures of your babies. You’re receiving good advice from your friends and family…this season of your life, too, will pass.

I’m a 70-year-old wife (of one husband), mother (of four) , grandmother (of 12) and great-grandmother (of 8). It’s been a wild and wonderful ride to this point…and sometimes, I wish I could line up all my babies on the couch and take another look at them. Cherish these days…I know, I know…you’re about to go crazy with lack of sleep and frustration. Yet, these days may be some of the best of your life.

I wish you well…God’s blessings on your home always.
